GM Tech2 Vetronix Scanner Feedback Yes and NO (All Here)

This article includes all GM Tech2 scanner Vetronix clone feedback Yes and No list, aiming to help the GM technicians who are new to GM TECH2.
Before continuing reading, please note GM Tech II works not on truck; go for VXDIAG VCX HD for truck.

Part 1: Feedback Yes

– Used my GM tech II to retrofit tcs and marry a non divorced cd changer.
– reads everything a genuine one does. Heck, it’s probably made in the same factory as a genuine one with a different sticker on it. Pinpoint bad air bag sensors, turned on the tpms on both our Z’s.
– It works exactly like any others I’ve used at gm dealers over the years
-connected to my intimidator ss and everything was there
– Change one of my c5s that is canadien to US to disable the auto headlights because they don’t always open when they should and when they do work right they come on too early.
– You have to specify GM English when you order the unit. There are a lot of other cards for different languages Saab, Holden, etc
– Is now fully functional for F body, C5 and C6, It cost me a lot more than the initial $1000 that I thought was a good deal.
– Plugin to my ’08 93 Aero and play around with the typical body and key features. My primary reason for picking up the Tech II was to program a spare key. I figured ~$500+ at a dealer or ~$400 on my own would be well worth it…obviously if I received a working, defect free, unit.
– Programming a key and changing some of the standard comfort features.
– Able to get security access using an old Dell laptop from my IT guy’s graveyard.
– Programming a new key was easily as 1-2-3
– Changed my key-unlock settings to all at first press, and then lock on drive off/open on key out was a snap.
– If you had a Tech2, you could possibly talk to the dealer and have them access their TIS system to load the BCM or PCM calibration to your Tech2. Some may do it.
– Hooked it up to test engine, ABS, transmission etc, stored DTCs, Freeze Frame, live data all the test result were displayed on the large, easy –to-read backlit screen. It helped to carry out accurate and stable diagnostic function.
– Compared with GM MDI, Tech2 scan tool covers more vehicles including OPEL, GM, SAAB, and Isuzu.
-used it on my GMC for air bag warning
-Tried it on my 2006 Silverado & worked ok.
– The tis 2000 needs windows XP, Vista, win8.1, Win 7 32 bit.
– Able to easily and completely program out the TPMS system
– I have used mine to do two crank sensor re=learns and did the brake bleed on mine for the EBCM flush and it worked fine
– I am fairly certain it works on all GM cars til 2013. I have used it on my 03 GMC full size pickup, and my sisters 07 Trailblazer !!!! (and my 99 vette of course).
-If you have a 1997-2000, the TPMS is in the firmware and cannot be programmed. With the addition of the Z06 in 2001-2004, it can be programmed.
– Bleed the ABS ok.
– Used to cycle and bleed the ABS brakes on my C6 ok
-Plugged it in to my 2011 Z06, and activated the Afterblow feature. I also cleared some old DTC codes that were in history. It works just fine and the quality feels genuine. It’s a pretty good knock off. Even came with all of the stickers from the Veltronix manufacturer. I assume they are knock off too.
– Used it to program my key fobs for my Malibu but also have 4 other Chevys

Part 2: Feedback NO

– GM tech2 scan tool would NOT work with All C5’s, if you are going to use it on a C6,, make SURE you have the CAN D modules.
– Cars only, no trucks, be advised to use Allscanner VXDIAG VCX HD heavy duty?scanner.

MPPS V16 Wrong Voltage PCB Rework & Solved!

I just picked up a MPPS v16 ecu tuning kit china clone. It seems to work but shows the wrong voltage. Maybe there is something wrong with the hardware. Here are some tips of how to modify and fix it. Big thanks to the folk in the MH community. Helped me a lot!
My working clone has the blue board in it.

R13 and R7 and R8 bad because 3digit resistor bigger tolerance 5%
Check only R13 value
it is wrong in most of Clones

Use 4 digit resistor tolerance 1% or less
and change 3 resistors.
R13 47kohm
R7. 4.7kohm
R8. 120ohm Size 0805.
For a farnell codes for R7 ,R8 and R13 Resistors:
Just go to any electronics part store such as digikey.com and type in the 4 digit numbers for search 4702, 4701, 1200.
it will pull up lots of the correct surface mount resistors and they will let you order only what you need

After that voltage is correct. Very small resistors, solder carefully.


Here is my test result: OK!
Reworked one unit after showing wrong voltage 30 volt.
Reworked with normal size resistors 1% percent tolerance.
R8-120ohm 1%.
R7-4.7kohm 5% stock resistor not changed, i’m going to change it but i think there is no difference.
R13-47kohm 1%.
Tested with the car switched on and also off, all good voltage is ok.
Read, write ok.










Have seen my friend’s mpps v18ecu flasher pcb. It seems much more better in design and quality. He says it’s working more stable and fast. Maybe i need buy a new one.

Reset BMW E92 335i Transmission via INPA K+DCAN

I am trying to reset automatic transmission adaptations on BMW E92 335i 2007 via INPA K+DCAN cable and software, but i am stuck at the step as indicated by the picture.
I downloada gs19.ipo file to do my reset as I have the alpina and it wouldn’t work so now it does but I got this message:
“nicht zusammenpassende versionen fehlfunktion ist moglich” which translated says
“Mismatched versions malfunction is possible”

I?search around forums and finally get some clues from?Alex Fiehl.?Big thanks to Alex who helped solved my problem.

There are reset jobs/functions in Tool32 that I find is more reliable. Just be prepared to follow the proper “re-learning” procedures afterwards. Check detail guide below:
Automatic transmissions are fickle beasts which can be astronomically expensive if not maintained. Throw in the fact that it’s a BMW, and the need for regular maintenance becomes quite clear. Unfortunately, a fluid and filter change is not as easy as it used to be.
When hard parts are replaced in a transmission or the fluid is changed, resetting the transmission’s adaptations may become necessary to restore shift quality. The ZF 6-speed automatic used in many E90-based vehicles like the 335i, X1, and 135i (among others) is an expensive transmission, and fluid replacement w/adaptation reset can be a great way to extend the life of it. This article should apply to any E-series vehicle that uses the ZF 6-Speed “Steptronic” Automatic.
When should I reset adaptations?
-When the fluid is changed
-When the software is updated (i.e. Alpina B3 Flash)
-When hard parts are replaced inside the transmission
Warning: If you have the capability of resetting transmission adaptations with INPA, I urge you not to do it unless you have the time and roadways to complete the relearn process exactly as described. This procedure will cause the transmission to shift poorly at a detriment to the gearbox if the relearn is not performed immediately and properly. It is better to change the fluid and NOT reset adaptations, than to reset them and not perform the proper relearn procedure.
To interface with your BMW you will need a BMW INPA K+DCAN Cable, which is a USB to OBD-II interface cable. We won’t be coding any modules or doing intensive flashing, so even a budget cable is likely to work, though.

Software Installation
To get INPA (as well as other coding features not needed in this article) BMW Standard Tools must be installed. Here are details instructions on how to install it:


Resetting Adaptations
Turn the vehicle’s ignition on but do not start the car by pressing the start button twice. Plug in the K+DCAN adapter to the vehicle and laptop. Execute INPA. When INPA is loaded, the battery and ignition bubbles should be filled in to indicate it has established communication with the vehicle.
Press shift+F8 for E90 based vehicles:





Select Transmission, then select GS19:




Press F6 Activate:




Press F3 to reset transmission adaptation values:




After pressing F3 the software should confirm the adaptations are reset and you can begin the process of relearning.

Relearning Adaptations
The most important part of resetting transmission adaptations is the re-learn process. Refer to the chart below to see which re-learn procedure your vehicle needs after its transmission adaptations are reset. Your vehicle’s build date will be on the sticker in the driver’s door jamb.

W204 Mileage Correction via OBD- Digiprog3-VVDI MB-FVDI-

There are lots of threads talking about Mercedes-Benz W204 mileage correction. Some use Digiprog 3 odometer programmer, some use VVDI mercedes or FVDI commander or original AVDI. So, which one should be best for W204 km change? Here you go…
Here list some good questions and answers between forum members. Read them first.

if you want to bloack km synchronization between EZS and dashboard, you need backup CGW (gateway0 EEPROM and FLASH before write km

so I try and cant do first time error when Erase Flash
so I write the flash and eeprom back and then I try again
all GOOD job done
smok tool its the best for this price
AVDI cant write flash back after first problem – smok done easy







In summary,
Digiprog3 programmer should be the best solution of Mercedes W204 Odometer Mileage through OBD. Within 5 minutes and no need dissemble the dashboard.

Note: there are some guys who claim they have done w204 2012 with digiprog, but also some others said 2013 didn’t work. personally, i wouldn’t try ezs with digiprog of 2013 model. if it reads tacho then it’s okay, and use can blocker.
this would be a cheap option..
