Xprog-M V5.55 Read BMW E46 M35080 EEPROM

Share a customer solution to read BMW E46 EEPROM M35080 with Xprog-m V5.55 programmer, including how to solve “FF FF” error when reading M35080.
All begin with “FF” error!




Took the cluster apart and soldered directly to pins of M35080 but still got the same results, reads of FF FF

Possible reasons:
M35080 16 pin adapter programming board used for the M35080 with the Xprog m is not working properly
”99% sure the FF reads are due to the adapter board” (by a xprog user)

How to do:replaced the 8 wire harness with a new one and the soldering is as it should be
to remove the 8 wires from the board, connect brass pins and connect the 8 wires to the corresponding slots on the 16 pin connector thus avoiding the use of the board
the part of the xprog M35080 adapter programming board:








soldered the wires directly to the corresponding pins off of the connector that connects to the xprog box and thus bypassed the M35080 xprog green board:











the M35080 pin order and the Xprog-m 16 pin connector pin labels so that the correct 7 pins can be sequenced between the M35080 eeprom and the Xprog-m special programming board for the M35080 eeprom:








Have rewired and here is the read:








elected E46 M35080 and not E46 Bosch M35080 — that is why the read came out as pictured with an incorrect representation of the VIN and the other data
saved the original file on the m35080 eeprom and then we edited that bin file and saved it with another name
erased the m35080 and loaded the original file that was edited
wrote the new file to the m35080
did a new read to confirm all was well and it was
Hope it’s a matter of selecting the correct device, reading, saving, editing, renaming/saving, erasing and verifying all steps taken and finally writing and then doing a read of the new data on the M35080 and putting back together the cluster and calling it a successful finished project!!!!!

The clone clips work very well with the genuine software. the Chinese software is loaded with bugs. I was fortunate to get a complete genuine set of software and a genuine can clip from a bust garage in another country, so tipped the software from the cloned unit, and used the cloned unit plus the genuine unit on my software.
It has proved invaluable to me with rebuilding Renaults, and both units allow me to do the full spectrum of work and reprogramming. I would purchase the clone from fleabay, but then try and get a set of genuine discs, from someone you know, and use that rather than the software that comes with the cloned unit.
I would be careful scratching around thought, as a wrong setting will immobilise the car, then you would have to re-flash the ECU or BCM unit

I once bought a Chinese knock off lexia-3 for a citroen I used to own. The hardware was perfect but the software had more viruses than Sierra Leone!

Yes,Chinese can clip can do most of the functions,changing parameters,actuation,coding injectors,throttle body learning etc.The only thing you wont be able is reprogramming engine ecu and uch and retrieving pincodes to program cards and keys(replacing by new ones).To get pincode is very easy if u know your electronics,just read from ecu-not from uch,much easier to read from ecu as eeprom is more easy to read than MCU.read dump send to icc within hours you’ll receive 12 digit pin,and use clip or sbb to program.There r ways to clone uch or ecus but u need right tool and gud at Electronics,no need to go dealer,never,from myself 19 years working for Renault as technical coordinator.

I haven’t used the clip tool in quite some time, but my cousin asked me about 2 weeks ago to read the faults on his clio, i hastily installed clip onto the laptop not really following the instructions on the CD. Anyhow it worked fine that day, read the codes and i though no more of it.

I went yesterday to read the codes on a Peugeot and the computer registration thing came up. Is there a way to get rid of it when deleting clip off the computer.
I know wiping the computer and reinstalling XP would solve the problem I’ve done that in the past but its a bit time consuming.

Launch X431 Program Key for Peugeot 408 2013

Share a key programming instruction with you all. Operation images from a Chinese customer who has managed to program Peugeot 408 new keys with original Launch X431 V (X431 pro). Program immobiliser key to Peugeot requesting for pin code.


Model:
Peugeot 408 2013, VIN= LDC943X48C13*****

Note:
– Prepare security code/pin code (usually under the spare key card, the last 4 letters after C9000000; if lost, ask the 4S store for help)





– No need a diagnostic tool when the high-frequency remote control synchronizes (key emission frequency is not the same), just press the scan tool and follow the screen instruction.

Operation to add new keys with Launch X431 V Pro:
1 select Peugeot v42.92 or newer versions
2 select car-> 408-> 408（2010.01-2014.09）
3 select Diagnosis
4 select a system
5 select Embedded Systems Interface (BSI), then communicate with ECU for about 15s





6 the system prompt the menu will be different on different models





7 select Special Function





8 select Repair Kit




9 select Learning





10 Select Key Programming




11 enter the security codes to continue
(wrong security codes will stop the process)
Note: all keys should be programmed together





12 click OK and enter the pin code?twice




13Confirm pin code. Ready to program keys.






14 enter keys number (maxi:5)

15 turn ignition off
16 turn ignition on within 15 seconds






17 key programming success, and prompt that key programming complete, turn ignition off and take out?the key






18 quickly insert the second key to program

21 click OK, and now programmed keys number: 2







22 Check handbarke Is applied and gear shift in position “P” (automotive transmission)/gear shift in neutral position (manual transmission)?before?start the engine
